Alzheimer's The Dreaded Disease

By Alyssa Wolfe

I dedicate this poem to my great-grandfather, Poppa who lost his life to this awful disease, Matthew Strickland Sr.
Love, Alyssa

Anyone can get this awful disease
Loved ones now have some hard decisions to face
Zippers for those affected are almost an impossible task
Help is always needed
Effects are hard to understand
Identity is often forgotten
Memory comes and goes
Emotions are hard to control
Reality is this disease has no cure yet
