Creative Space: The Writing Room

Untitled

By C.J.

Last year when we were given pen pals that had Alzhemiers, we got to learn all about what alzhemiers is. We even got to meet our pen pals and this was a good learning experience.

Two of my pen pals unfortunately died and I found this was sad. I began to think I was bad luck. I did get to meet my third pen pal "Hattie" though. I found that she looked like any other older person. The thing that made her different was that she asked me the same questions over and over again. For example "What is your name?" seemed to be the one she asked the most. She also liked to talk about her husband.

There was another lady I met named "Ruby". She was funny and could still play the piano. We sang Christmas carols along with her. I don't think I will ever forget her.
