Activities
-- Things to Do
It
can be a challenge to keep the person with Alzheimer's disease active during the day. Normal routines can help
fill in the day -- making the bed, folding laundry, peeling
vegetables. Keep in mind what abilities remain and focus
on them. Also,
keep in mind the things she liked to do in the past.
Suggestions
for activities include:
- listening
to music -- this is often soothing and all of us respond
to favourite tunes
- remembering
the past -- looking at photograph albums can bring
back pleasant memories
- helping
with cooking, housework and gardening -- this is possible
when you give her a chore that she is able to do
- exercising
-- walking, dancing, swimming and simple exercise routines
can be enjoyable
